Since 2005, Villa Portofino has been an architecturally stunning property in Palm Desert, CA. This active 55+ community was built on 50 acres with beautifully landscaped homes and amenities inspired by the magic of Italy. While this community is smaller than other 55+ properties in the Coachella Valley, the amenities and friendly people bring a charm reminiscent of summer in Tuscany to this gem in the desert.
Villa Portofino is situated perfectly around numerous golf courses, country clubs, and restaurants. Home owners are treated every day to the breath taking views of both the San Jacinto Mountains and the Santa Rosa Mountains. This ideal location offers several on site amenities all within a secure and gated community.
Villa Portofino Real Estate
This community has mostly medium sized single family homes. A total of 460 single story one, two, and three bedroom homes are all architecturally inspired by Italy. Streets are made of paved stones with numerous walkways and trails connecting houses. All houses have been sold but a few properties are available for resale. Units range from 1,009 square feet up to around 1,610 square feet in size. Current available properties range from the high $100’s up to the high $500’s. HOA fees are $375 per month for the first five years. Fees cover exterior building maintenance, upkeep of the grounds, structural fire insurance, cable television, water, trash, exterior window washing, and pest control services.
For residents looking to have a more manageable property, Villa Portofino offers several condominium floor plans. Condos are offered in the following layouts; one bedroom one bath, one bedroom one full bath and one partial bath, and two bedroom two bath configurations.
One bedroom one bath units are 960 square feet and start around $205,000. Interior features of the units include; washer/dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, air conditioner, ceiling fans, fire place, and carpet/tile floors.
One bedroom one full bath and one partial bath units are 1,169 square feet and start around $244,000. Interior features include; washer/dryer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, refrigerator, and island kitchen.
Two bedroom two bath units are 1,559 square feet and start around $259,000. Interior features include; most of the features in the one bedroom units, exhaust fans, double vanities in the bathrooms, granite shower and tub area, and walk in closets in the master bedroom/master retreat.
Villa Portofino Amenities
This property does not contain a golf course but it does include a nine hole putting range. With wonderful course such as; Suncrest, Palm Desert Greens, and Desert Willow Golf Resort literally across the street, the avid golfer will not be disappointed.
Within the community is a 30,000 square foot clubhouse, fitness center, pool, spa, and a restaurant (Bistro Portofino). The property also offers residents concierge service.
Inside the clubhouse residents will find two areas for dinning and a game room. The game room offers a nice sports bar, poker room, bridge room, pool tables and several large screen televisions. Bingo and card game nights are often held in the space.

The clubhouse is closed Sunday and Monday but has good hours the remainder of the week. The fitness center is open daily between 5:00 am until 11:00 pm. The pool is open daily between sunrise and 10:00 pm.
Bistro Portofino serves two meals a day Wednesday through Saturday. Lunch is from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Dinner is served from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Happy hour is from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
