For many, Christmas is a time that evokes many warm and fond memories of family, celebration, fun and tradition. Likely, these memories are from childhood; either yours, or your children’s. Cozy pajamas, hot cider, the full spread of your families traditional food enjoyed together in the ambiance that only a lit Christmas tree decorated with Mom’s special touch can provide. All while the Christmas Story plays on loop in the background for 48 hours straight until you are able to recite every line word for word (I still can’t get that stupid lamp out of my head… My wife knows I’m a leg man). Oh, and gifts. Lots of gifts. Piles of gifts overflowing from under the tree like the largest gift yielding Christmas tree piñata ever conceived. And although we all like to receive gifts, it’s the giving of gifts that brings the warmest thoughts.
For some, however, this time of year is vastly different. Our mission at the Jelmberg Team is to not only provide exceptional results for our clients, and be leaders in our field, but also leverage our business to bless others. One way we accomplish this is to partner with local non-profits who, we have seen first-hand, truly make a difference for those in need in our community. This month, the Jelmberg Team is highlighting two non-profits and will be matching donations dollar for dollar up to $2,500 for each organization. Partner with the Jelmberg Team, Street Life Project and Fathers Heart Ranch to give the gift of hope to the homeless, and the parentless this Christmas.
For the past five years, Street Life Project has been serving on the front-line and focuses on building relationships in the streets, under bridges, and in hidden camps throughout the Coachella Valley. Serving meals, clothing, hygiene and other needed resources allows us to form trusting friendships with those living in the streets, so that we can assist them with rehab, jobs, housing, etc. to help them get back on their feet. Our goal is to create working duplicable systems with proven results. We look forward to seeing the homeless count reduce as we continue to grow. The mission of the Father’s Heart Ranch Group Home is to receive, restore and revive children whose lives have been affected by abuse and neglect of adults who have betrayed their roles to care and nurture these children.
Each child’s circumstance is different. Some are waiting for a parent to complete court required programs before the child can return, other parents are incarcerated or plainly, nowhere to be found. Either way, our goal is to provide skills that each child can take with them on their journey through life. Through therapy, community involvement, spiritual development, exposure to new things and above all LOVE. We provide holistic development for our children and in this way we look forward to seeing that each child’s journey is a success.
