Born near Boston on the south shore of Massachusetts, John's journey took him from New England to the sunny shores of Southern California. His upbringing within a close-knit family instilled values of adventure and determination, underpinned by the core principles of integrity, professionalism, and discipline, thanks to his loving parents.

During college breaks, John contributed his skills to his family's construction business, operating heavy-duty equipment. This hands-on experience laid the foundation for his future entrepreneurial endeavors. Over time, he would go on to establish multiple successful private enterprises before assuming the role of Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development at a publicly traded biotech startup.

Despite his demanding professional life, John found solace and inspiration in the serene desert landscapes between Los Angeles and his Palm Springs residence. Eager to make this oasis his permanent home and reduce the constant commute, he decided to make the move to Palm Springs full-time.

In 2009, John harnessed his extensive background in sales, negotiation, and business development to pivot into the world of real estate. This transformation marked the birth of Barnett California Realty, a venture that has facilitated millions of dollars in real estate transactions. On weekends between LA and his Palm Springs home, John wanted to spend more time in the glorious desert and less time traveling by plane for work. So, John moved to Palm Springs full-time.
